Sandra Kay Wilson Durham, 67, formerly of Carlisle, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at her home in Richmond.

Born November 19, 1954 in Nicholas County, to the late Charles Edward Wilson & Margie Ellen Hamm Wilson, she retired from the Nicholas County School System, where she taught special education for many years, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carlisle. Sandy truly devoted herself to the care and learning of her students.

Surviving are a brother, Samuel Edward Wilson; 3 nieces, Melissa Carol Jones, Rebekah Ellen Jones & Jennifer Nicole Jones Grigsby; a nephew, Colton Edward Wilson; 7 great-nieces & nephews: Ashley Brooke Casey, Michaela Elizabeth Shea, Michael Andrew Adkins, Jonathan Clay Adkins, Abram Matthew Grigsby, Sawyer Elizabeth Grigsby and Jude Hutson Grigsby; a great-great-nephew, Angus Cole “Gus” Wigglesworth; and a great-great-niece, Austen Brooke Fite.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Sally Wilson Ryan.

In accordance with Sandra’s wishes, there will be no services following cremation.
