Shirley Bussell Mynear, 83, wife of the late Jesse Clay Mynear, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long and blessed life on Saturday, October 12, 2019.
A lifelong resident of Nicholas County born January 18, 1936 to the late John William & Betty McIntyre Bussell, Shirley graduated from Nicholas County High School in 1954, worked at the Nicholas County Senior Citizens Center for 22 years and was a member of the Carlisle Christian Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother, who loved spending time with her family and cooking many wonderful meals for them.
She is survived by four children: Sharon (Doug) Vaughn, of Paris, Rita (Phillip) Mattox, Steve (Michele) Mynear and Johnny Mynear (Patty Irvin), all of Carlisle; a brother, Stanley (Nancy)Bussell, of Carlisle; a sister, Gaynell Bussell, of Mt. Sterling; 8 grandchildren: Brandon Mattox, Jessica Vaughn, Joshua Mynear– who she helped raise, Jordan (Madeline) Mynear, Justin (Shannon) Vaughn, Aaron Pope, Mikayla Mynear and Shane Mattox, 2 great-grandchildren, Claycee Mitchell and Cian Vaughn, and one to arrive in January, Brooks Clay Mynear, along with 3 special friends & care-givers: Kara Sexton, Patty Irvin & Tara Sexton.
She was also outstripped in the race of life by 8 brothers and sisters: Arnold Clay Bussell, Geneva Bussell, Grimes Bussell, Marshall Bussell, Anna Ruth Sexton, Lee Bussell, Alma Cannon & Virginia Bussell.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the Carlisle Christian Church by Rev. Steve Smith with burial to follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of service.
