Stanley Carr Alexander, 92, of Frankfort, formerly of Carlisle, husband of Mary Lou Lawson Alexander, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2017 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington.
Born September 11, 1925 in Nicholas County to the late J.W. "Jack" & Fannie Hunt Alexander, he was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a lifelong farmer, a retired employee of the Bundy Tubing Co. in Cynthiana, a former member of the Nicholas County Soil Conservation Board, had been a member of Nicholas Post 17 American Legion and was a longtime member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church, where he was active in the Methodist Men.
Additional survivors include a son, Jack (Teresa) Alexander, of Mt. Eden; a step-daughter, Linda (Earl) Riley, of Frankfort; a step-daughter-in-law, Melicent Clinkenbeard, a grandson, Christopher James Alexander; 4 step-grandchildren, Emily (Justin) Foster, Andy (Arianna) Richardson, Christy (Andy) Bendix and Kara (Brendan) Boles; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death was his first wife, Etna May Dwelly Alexander, a sister, Jane Brady, and a step-son, Larry Clinkenbeard.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Carlisle United Methodist Church by Revs. Rocky & Denise Wallace and Rev. Julian Hammonds. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of service.
