Stephen Thomas "Steve" Gillispie, 63, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
A native of Bourbon Co., he was born October 12, 1953 to Harvey T. "Tommy" Gillispie and the late Mary Della Letcher Gillispie.
Steve was a longtime heavy machinery & diesel mechanic for Cantwell Machinery Co. in Blue Ash, Ohio and currently the Tractor Technician for Chris’s Repair Shop in Carlisle. He had been a Shooting Sports Instructor for Mason Co. 4-H, enjoyed wood-working in his shop and was a member of Herrington United Methodist Church.
Survivors in addition to his father are his wife, Pam Jefferson Gillispie; 2 sons, Christopher Gail (Julie) Gillispie & Dwight Thomas (Crystal) Gillispie, of Carlisle; 2 sisters, Pamela Gail (Kevin) McTeague, of Roswell, Georgia & DeAnna Faye Jinks, of Gatlinburg, Tennessee; 2 step-daughters, David (Angie) Merrill & Beth Lee, of Maysville; 7 grandchildren: Kayla & Kelsey Gillispie, Jilson Thomas "J.T." Gillispie, Parker, Gracie & Kayson Merrill and Aidan Lee; and a nephew, Boone Jinks.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Mathers-Gaunce F.H. by Bro. Jim Caswell and Rev. Gaylord Gillispie. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Friday.
