Tickie Ritchie Obituary

Clifton “Tickie” Ritchie, 88, of Carlisle, husband of 57 years to Sandy Gillispie Ritchie, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana. 

Born November 18, 1936 in Nicholas County to the late Jesse & Maybelle Jones Ritchie, he was a 1957 graduate of Nicholas County High School, a former employee of Kawneer and Bundy Tubing, and retired after working for 30 years at Eaton/Grede Foundry. Tickie loved UK Football & Basketball, working in his yard, farming and his family. He was a member of Elks Lodge #438 in Cynthiana, the Friends of Blue Licks and Carlisle United Methodist Church. 

Additional survivors include 3 children: Melissa Ritchie (Tip) Fryman of Nicholas County, Christopher Dean (Michele) Ritchie of Cynthiana and Craig Wesley (Lori) Ritchie of Harrison County; a brother, J.B. Ritchie of Nicholas County; 4 grandchildren: Sydney Fryman (Dillon Webb), Isaac Fryman (Haley Ellis), Megan Ritchie and C.J. (Brooke) Ritchie; 7 great-grandchildren: Keaston Webb, Brendyn & Bryson Ritchie, Gracie Ritchie & Mason Brown, Marley Bliss and Riley McIntosh; and 1 great-great grandchild, Ivory Brown. 

Also preceding him in death were a grandson, Craig Wesley Ritchie, II; a brother, Harold “Buddy” Ritchie; and 2 sisters, Frances Smith & Minnie White. 

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 21st at Carlisle United Methodist Church by Rev. Kyle Burnette and Rev. James Doughton with burial to follow in Carlisle Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Friday until the time of service.
