Togie Hughes

Togie Hughes, 52, of Carlisle, son of Rosie Flora Hughes and the late Danny Hughes, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023. 

Born July 29, 1970 in Bourbon County, he was a 1988 graduate of Nicholas County High School, a member of Myers Christian Church, and a longtime employee of Kentucky Textiles, where he made many friends during his time there. Togie enjoyed sports of all types and especially loved coaching baseball and basketball to the youth of Nicholas County. He enjoyed spending time with his niece & nephew, Audri & Dray Hughes, and was their #1 fan. He loved his family and visits from Lillye & Axyl Jabben and Alaina Abnee. He held a special place in his heart for his friends and Jaiden Willoughby and Kain Abnee.

Additional survivors include his sisters, Shauna Garrett and Rachel Boone; his niece, Audri Hughes (Nick Stamper); his nephew, Dray Hughes; and his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hughes (Trevor Fuller); along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Also preceding him in death were a brother, Shane Hughes; a sister, Missy Hughes; paternal grandparents, Lloyd Hughes and Clarine Finch; and maternal grandparents, Milton & Josephine Flora.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 14th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Rodney Pollitt with burial to follow in Carlisle Cemetery. 

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Thursday. 

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Carlisle-Nicholas County Parks & Recreation Department.
