Tressia H. Sampson, age 80, Carlisle, died Monday, September 23rd, 2024 at the University of Kentucky Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Nicholas County, November 1st, 1943 to the late Oral and Mary (Florence) Hollar. A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Tressia worked at Square D (Schneider Electric) before her retirement. She was a member of the Bluegrass Cowboy Church in Carlisle.
Also preceding her in death were her husband of 54 years, Danny S. Sampson; three brothers: Sidney Hollar, Ralph Hollar, & Oral Hollar, Jr., and one sister, Trienzi Horn.
Surviving are two sons, Mark (Karen) Sampson, Lexington, and Timothy (Kimberly) Sampson, Nicholas County; a daughter, Danis Stephanie (Matthew) Kilcoyne, Lexington; a sister, Brenda Hance, Thorton, CO; two sisters-in-law, Judy Waggoner, Carlisle, and Rose (Ralph) Hollar, Independence; a brother-in-law, Kirk (Mardi) Waggoner, Carlisle; three grandchildren: Elizabeth (Caroline) McEachern-Kilcoyne, Kathleen Kilcoyne & Benjamin Sampson; a great-grandson, Elliot McEachern-Kilcoyne; and many other beloved relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held 1:00-3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 29th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home with private burial at a later time.
