Wayne Roe Obituary

Wayne Roe, 85, of Carlisle, Kentucky, passed away on November 19, 2024 in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was on dialysis successfully for 23 years, the longest running male dialysis patient in the State of Kentucky. He was a farmer, general contractor, and occasionally the courthouse & Save-a-lot security guard when needed. He was always telling everyone a joke…..always.

He was born in Carlisle, Kentucky September 26, 1939 to George Roe and Hazel Cope Roe. He is survived by his 2 children that he absolutely adored, Ardeanna Roe Techau, Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Wayne Roe, Jr…...his favorite of the two children, (Mitzi) of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, one grandson, Justin Techau (Chelsea) of Seymour, Indiana, and one great grandson, Atticus. He is also survived by 3 sisters. Mary “Mert” Roe, Paris, Kentucky, Sue Earlywine, Paris, Kentucky, and Doris Cannon, Carlisle, Kentucky. His younger sister, Mary, was his caretaker for many years. Enough good things cannot be said about her and making his life better while being on dialysis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James, and 3 sisters, Georgia, Nelly, and Wilma.

A big thank you to Fresenius Kidney Care in Mt Sterling, Kentucky for loving our father as much as we did. He loved getting new jokes to tell the dialysis team whenever he was there.
