William H. Fryman, Sr., 94, husband of the late Laura Hunt Fryman, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the VA Medical Center-Leestown Rd. in Lexington.
Born January 6, 1922 in Nicholas County to the late John M. & Willie Keaton Williams Fryman, he was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater and was a lifelong farmer.
Survivors include a son: William H. Fryman, Jr.; 2 daughters: Belinda (George) Watkins and Virginia (Victor) Ross, all of Carlisle; 3 brothers: Louis A. Fryman & John M. Fryman, Jr., both of Carlisle, and Arthur R. Fryman, of Hannah, Indiana; 2 sisters: Flora Gertrude Earlywine, of Mt. Olivet, and Christine Dwelly, of Florida; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were a brother: Acel E. Fryman; 3 sisters: Mary Belle Fryman, Della May Earlywine and Lucy Evelyn Fryman; a grandson, Kendall Fryman; a great-granddaughter: Candice Watkins; and a great-grandson: Terry William Watkins.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 1, 2016 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Bobby Stone. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Sunday.
