William Murrell Obituary

William Earl Murrell, 87, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 at his home.

Born November 30, 1930 in Nicholas County, he served in the Kentucky Army National Guard and was a former employee of Jockey International, K.T.’s and Lee-Lynn Manufacturing. Earl was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel, a member and Past Master of Blue Licks Lodge #495, a member of the Past Masters’ Association and the Order of the Eastern Star-Marie Chapter and had also been involved with the Nicholas County Lions Club and the Shriners for many years. He was a lifelong member of the Barterville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Sarah Pollard; 3 sisters: Dorothy Frederick, Peggy Snapp and Juanita Bowles, and a large extended family.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Ethel Pickett Murrell Spigles; 2 brothers, Carl & Joe Spigles; and a sister, Janet Morris.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 22, 2018 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Jerry Eubanks with burial following in the Millersburg Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Sunday with Masonic Rites at 7:00 P.M.
