Katie, I am so sorry to hear about Dan. I am a friend of Dan's mom and Dan went to school and played baseball and soccer with my son. Anne talks about you and her granddaughter every time we get together. She loves both of you so much and talks about how you and Dan loved each other and were so excited about your new beginning. I appreciate Dan's service to America. I am so sorry and I will be praying for you and your little girl. .....Gail

I also was fortunate enough to have served with Dan. The positive influence he left in his wake no doubt still endures today in every command where his service was dutifully rendered. It was an honor to serve with a man and genuine Chief of his caliber. My family and I offer our deepest condolences and prayers for all those heartbroken by his loss. Fair winds and following seas brother.

Katie and Mattie, I am so deeply sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. I worked with him at Naval Test Wing Atlantic Pax River. Dan was so kind and always smiling. We would usually talk about sports (Ducks, Seahawks, Mariners) and I was amazed when I learned of all of his beautiful woodworking, especially the coin holders he made for all of his shipmates as they retired. He was so proud of Mattie - he glowed and smiled even bigger whenever he spoke of her. I pray you find peace and comfort.

I served with Dan during my last tour at HSM 70 and deployed for 10 months and I sad to hear he passed so early. I value my time with him and no matter how bad it seemed he always had a smile on his face. I never met his family but I know how important they were to him as I heard countless stories about his young daughter and how amazing she was. If you every need anything and your in Jacksonville I’m here to always help a brother and his family 904-742-4539. Once in the mess always in the mess. You will be missed brother.

My deepest condolences to Dan’s family and especially his wife and daughter. I worked with Dan his last 3 years in the Navy. A very thoughtful and considerate person. We enjoyed many a laugh together and even went to a few sporting events together. His last text to me was on Thursday night congratulating me because my Capitals had won the Championship. Always thinking of others. He will be missed.

Dan had an infectious smile. Minutes after meeting him, you felt like you'd been friends for a very long time. He was opinionated and spirited in discussions about the things that matter, like music and sports. Love and hugs to our friends as you honor his memory.
